Straight Truck Body
Regardless of the type of straight truck body – whether it is a dry freight, insulated, refrigerated, curtain-sided, workshop service, or cube van – having SecureDeckTM installed is a wise choice. Safeguarding the load, the personnel working on the deck, as well as preserving and protecting assets, are the major benefits of this unique and patented product.
Keeping the load secured
Its high adherence ensures that loads do not shift, tip or spill onto the roadway. Merchandise – whether palletized or loaded directly on the floor – virtually “sticks” to the deck therefore reducing the need to resort to other traditional cargo securement devices and methods.
Unlike traditional wood and aluminum floors, a SecureDeckTM floor will absorb potentially damaging shocks during transport. Loads and any equipment being transported are kept safe and damage-free when SecureDeckTM covers the floor. This results in fewer claims.
Safe Loading
Loading equipment can operate without skidding and personnel working on the platform will find improved grip underfoot. Especially in wet, cold, icy or snowy conditions, SecureDeckTM offers much higher coefficients of friction than wood and aluminum floors. Improved safety and security ratings; reductions in costly but avoidable work related injuries, are key benefits to having SecureDeckTM installed.
Clean and Dry
Ever tried to clean a wooden floor? Certainly, this is something that most carriers face, yet the task can be facilitated . With SecureDeckTM, the polymer surface is essentially impenetrable and 100% watertight, making clean-ups fast and easy.
A Wise Choice
SecureDeck’sTM durability and shock absorption properties means there will be less damage to your loads and floor. This translates into fewer claims and repair jobs. Increasing your productivity and ROI while keeping your trucks on the road – these are additional reasons to adopt SecureDeckTM.
Installing SecureDeckTM
Whether for a new or an existing truck in your fleet, SecureDeckTM can be installed on any wood, steel or aluminum floor. Given that the floor is within a closed environment, and given the most recent North American cargo securement standards, we generally recommend the following SecureDeckTM configuration:
- Thickness: 0.325 inch (8.25 mm).
- Hardness: SecureDeckTM G-60 polymer (normal) or (more demanding) V-60 or V-72.
- Surface: Honeycomb and/or smooth.
